Raichle Johnson: The Heartbeat of The Lookout with a Passion for Pages & Peaks!

Raichle is a Vermont native with deep roots in Pittsfield, Vermont. She’s been an integral part of The Lookout's family since May 2021. What makes her tick? “My spirit soars high with every book I devour and every slope I conquer,” she says.

Unbeknownst to many, she’s an ardent bibliophile indulging in 2-3 books a week! This love for stories enriches her interactions, bringing unique perspectives and warmth to every guest experience at The Lookout.

She’s also a seasoned skier and lover of all things outdoors, from slicing through the pristine slopes of Killington to adventuring through Vermont’s breathtaking landscapes on a paddle board or on a hike, she’s always in pursuit of the next peak experience.

“My heart belongs to Vermont’s fall, with its tapestry of colors and cool breezes - perfect for hiking and absorbing the serene beauty of our landscapes,” she said.

Her Hero? Lindsey Vonn, an icon in the ski world. “Her tenacity and skill on the slopes have been a guiding light in my own skiing journey,” she said.

Christian Laufer The Adrenaline-Driven Dynamo at The Lookout!

Christian has been a proud member of the vibrant family at The Lookout since July 2023. Hailing from Merchantville, New Jersey, he traded the hustle of 'Dirty Jersey' for the adrenaline-pumping adventures of Killington, Vermont.

You won't catch him lounging in front of the TV, not with the exhilarating world of Killington's outdoor sports beckoning! From tearing up the slopes on skis and snowboards to slicing through the waters on a jet ski, Christian lives a life full of endless adventure, a testament to his passion for the great outdoors.

His love for the slopes began in the Poconos and Catskills, but it was a ski vacation in Killington that changed everything. Captivated by the area's magic, he made the bold move to Vermont, embracing its dynamic energy and limitless possibilities.

In addition to outdoor sports, he also has a passion for mechanics and travel.

In the winter season he embraces the opportunity to shine at work, building and leading a team that thrives under pressure. In contrast, summer offers a personal escape, a time to indulge in Vermont's boundless beauty and activities.

“The Lookout isn't just a workplace, it's a family passionately built by Phil and Joy,” Christian said. “Their dedication and hands-on approach create an environment where every team member, myself included, feels valued and part of something truly special. Here, passion meets hard work, creating an unmatched vibe that our guests love.”

A Legacy of Après and Authenticity: For over 20 years, The Lookout has been the heart of Killington's après scene, famously known as "The BEST OLD SKI BAR" in the world. Our guests don't just come for the great food or the chance to win amazing prizes – they come for the genuine, unforgettable experiences that only The Lookout can offer.

When it comes to the menu, “nothing beats the Chicken and Waffles for me,” he said. “It's the perfect fuel for a day full of activity or a delicious way to wind down after a busy shift.”

Hailey Reape: The Lookout's Culinary Enthusiast with a Heart for Animals and Adventure!

Hailey is a New Jersey native who found a new home and family at The Lookout in October 2021. What began as a temporary stay turned into a three-year love story with Killington. “It's amazing how life's unplanned moments can lead to the most fulfilling experiences,” she said, calling her spontaneous move to Vermont “serendipitous.”

“At The Lookout, we're more than just colleagues; we're a family,” she said. “This bond is not just amongst us, but it extends to every guest who walks through our doors. It's this sense of togetherness and warmth that makes working here a truly unique experience.”

Love on a Plate:
“We believe in cooking with love, a secret ingredient that makes our food not just delicious, but also heartwarming,” she said. “This philosophy is what makes The Lookout a one-of-a-kind destination for anyone who seeks both flavor and feeling in their meal.”

When it comes to her culinary favorite on the menu, the Beast Chicken Sandwich is her go-to choice. “It's a crowd-pleaser, capturing the essence of our kitchen's creativity and passion,” she said. Summer in Vermont holds a special place in Hailey’s heart. “It's a season of warmth, both in weather and in the spirit of our community, making it my favorite time of the year,” she said. Although Hailey isn’t a skier or rider (yet), learning to enjoy the slopes is on her list. She looks forward to embracing the new challenge and experiencing the thrill that so many guests and team members talk about.

Away from the hustle and bustle of work, her world revolves around her beloved animals. Spending time with them is not just a pastime; it's a way to reconnect, rejuvenate, and find joy in the simplest of moments, she explained.
